The story behind Griffin's
name
The
name "Griffin" was first heard by Chad & Deb from a former coworker of
Deb's. His son's name is Griffin. Deb always loved the name especially
because this coworker's daughter called her younger brother "Griffy." Deb
always thought that was cute. So, we found out at about 20 weeks in the
pregnancy that we had a boy, and he's been "Griffin" ever since! Nothing
else seemed to fit.
The name "Joel"
is in honor of a dear friend of Chad's, Joel Hotchkiss. Joel and Chad
were friends through band activities and waterskiing in high school. Chad went off to
college and Joel entered the Marines. Sadly, after his discharge from
the Marines he was killed in a car accident while watching deer one
night. Chad and Deb have remained in contact with Joel's family in
Michigan and whenever in Michigan usually surprise them with a visit.
