Chad is one of our photographers who has the social etiquette to blend in with any crowd. You will enjoy having Chad capture your event. He has a diverse background and has an excellent rapport with people of all ages. As a prospective or current client, you will appreciate his engaging personality and will walk away from the photo shoot having enjoyed the experience.

Chad currently works full-time for Ozinga Bros., Inc. He has been employed there for 15 years in a variety of positions, from mowing the lawns to management. He currently is a dispatch manager and is responsible for managing 60 concrete trucks on a daily basis. For more information about the company visit www.Ozinga.com.

Chad has studied photography at Edward Fox Studios, a renowned photography studio from the three-city network of Detroit, Milwaukee, and Chicago.

Chad is a member of the Professional Photographers of America. (PPA) He is currently studying on being a Certified Photographer with PPA.

Chad is also a freelance photographer for Jennings Photography, official photographer of the National High School Rodeo Association Finals.

Chad has also freelanced as a sports photographer with Legends Sports Photography.

In his free time, Chad enjoys doing a number of things. Being a husband and father are his main priorities. Chad enjoys being a member of First Evangelical Free Church in Rockford, IL (www.firstfreerockford.org) where he serves in the childcare department and on church council. He is currently conducting research on starting a cowboy church ministry in the Stateline area.
Chad also serves as a member of the Abundant Life Tres Dias Community which is one of 70 communities from around the world. Tres Dias in an interdenominational Christian renewal movement that involves prayer, study, and action. It encourages Christians to tell others about Christ emphasizing the love that our Lord has for each one of us. Chad also enjoys riding his four-wheeler and taking care of the family pets - a paint horse "Chief" and two boxers, Spike and Roxy.

Deb Smits
Owner/Business Manager, Wedding Coordinator, Photographer

Deb is our business manager, wedding coordinator, and photographer. In addition to running Smits Photography, Deb also freelances as a desktop publisher, web designer, and marketing specialist. Deb is a graduate of Illinois State University with a degree in psychology. She has also taken masters classes at Northern Illinois University for instructional technology.
When you set up an appointment or have a bridal consultation with Smits Photography, you will speak to and meet with Deb. She will review all of the details you will need to know about your wedding, event, or portrait session. She is often found behind the camera as photographer for much of our portrait work such as engagement portraits, seniors, children, and families.

Deb first and foremost enjoys being a wife and mother. As an active member of First Evangelical Free Church in Rockford (www.firstfreerockford.org), she serves on the Women's Ministries Leadership Board as promotions coordinator (www.firstfreewomen.org) and as promotions coordinator for the Women's Retreat Committee. She also enjoys leading her daughter's Daisy Girl Scout Troop.
