Chad M. Smits
Owner/Photographer
Chad is one of our photographers who has the social etiquette to blend in with any crowd. You will enjoy having Chad capture your event. He has a diverse background and has an excellent rapport with people of all ages. As a prospective or current client, you will appreciate his engaging personality and will walk away from the photo shoot having enjoyed the experience.

Chad is employed as the head recruiter & trainer with Road Ranger LLC (www.roadrangerusa.com) in Rockford, IL. In 2009, he made this switch after working 17 years for Ozinga Bros., Inc. (www.Ozinga.com).

Chad has studied photography at Edward Fox Studios, a renowned photography studio from the three-city network of Detroit, Milwaukee, and Chicago.

Chad has also served as a freelance photographer for Jennings Photography, official photographer of the National High School Rodeo Association Finals. He has also freelanced as a sports photographer with Legends Sports Photography.

Chad is a member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA).

In his free time, Chad enjoys doing a number of things. Being a husband and father are his main priorities. Stemming from his love of horses, he founded a Christian ministry to the cowboy / western heritage community in which he coordinates church services at various rodeos and rodeo events. Living Well Cowboy Church (www.livingwellcowboychurch.org) kicked off in the fall of 2008 and continues to grow with God's direction. Chad enjoys attending Red Brick Church in Stillman Valley, IL.
Chad also serves as a member of the Abundant Life Tres Dias Community which is one of 70 communities from around the world. Tres Dias in an interdenominational Christian renewal movement that involves prayer, study, and action. It encourages Christians to tell others about Christ emphasizing the love that our Lord has for each one of us. Chad is an active member attending the three-day renewal weekends twice per year and also sponsors new members. For more information about Tres Dias Communities, visit www.TresDias.org.
Chad also enjoys riding his four-wheeler and taking care of the family pets - a paint horse "Chief" and two boxers, Spike and Roxy.

Deb Smits
Owner/Business Manager, Photographer

Deb is our business manager and primary photographer. In addition to running Smits Photography, Deb also freelances as a desktop publisher, web designer, and marketing specialist. Deb is a graduate of Illinois State University with a degree in psychology. She has also taken masters classes at Northern Illinois University for instructional technology.
When you set up an appointment with Smits Photography, you will speak to and meet with Deb. She will review all of the details you will need to know about your portrait session. She is often found behind the camera as our primary photographer.

Deb first and foremost enjoys being a wife and mother. Deb enjoys attending Red Brick Church in Stillman Valley, IL with the family. She also enjoys leading her daughter's Girl Scout Brownie Troop.
Deb, too, is an active member of the Abundant Life Tres Dias Community along with Chad. They both enjoy serving others through this ministry.
