What an exciting time for both of you as you plan one of the most important days of your life together. Planning all of the details that will capture the essence of your relationship is a fun, but often stressful, thing to do. Picking out dresses, tuxes, and flowers; selecting the “perfect spots;” and choosing your vendors for your wedding day are important details of your planning. You will sometimes be spending the entire day with a vendor and entrusting an important aspect of your day to them.

Smits Photography is owned by a husband-wife team of Chad & Deb Smits. We are a full-service wedding and portrait photographer that relocated to the Rockford, IL area in January 2003 after being in St. Charles, IL for a number of years. We started this business out of a love for photography and a need we kept hearing from couples about their wedding photography being a nightmare. We just hated to hear these stories and knew we could offer something better.

As a husband and wife team and owners of our company, we pay extra special attention to the needs and wants of our couples. We take time prior to the wedding to get to know you so we can better capture your wedding day. We don’t want you to be happy with the images we take—we want you to LOVE them and also love the service we provide to you in the process.

We believe that a wedding photographer should do more than take great pictures. While it is the images that are tangible at the end of the day, we make every effort to make the day run as smoothly as possible and pay attention to the finest details. We are both committed to providing the highest quality service to our clients. In doing so, we often feel part of the family and have built relationships with our couples and their friends and family. This is an exciting business and we enjoy providing a quality product and outstanding service to our clients while having some fun together.

Full-Day Wedding Photography Packages

We offer three full-day wedding package options for the couple who wishes to get the most for their money and have a lot to take home when all is said and done. There are no substitutions on full-day wedding package pricing.

Wedding Package #1—The Royal

Our top package is for the couple who wants it ALL! We didn’t hold back in offering the bells and whistles for this package! Full-day coverage, FOUR wedding albums of varying sizes, an engagement memory album, JPG images on DVD, and much more! The Royal comes complete with

Additional Details

Bridal Consultation: We encourage you to schedule an in-person bridal consultation appointment to discuss your wedding photography. This face-to-face meeting is a great way for you to get to know our personality.

Booking: Dates are reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis. To book a wedding with Smits Photography, we require a completed contract and an initial payment. In the event of cancellation, there is a non-refundable deposit of $750.00 for full-day packages and $500.00 for hourly packages

Payment Terms: Smits Photography accepts personal checks and cash. We divide our full-day packages in three payments: first third due at booking, second third due one week prior to your wedding date, and final payment due upon delivery of your preview book (in the event of out-of-area
weddings, payment must be received by Smits Photography before the preview book will be shipped). For hourly packages, half is due at booking with the remaining half due one week prior to your wedding.

Travel: We do not charge for travel as long as you are within the greater Rockford area. If you are out of the area, we reserve the right to charge a travel fee to cover our costs. If overnight accommodations are required, the client is responsible for this expense.

Holiday Bookings: If your wedding date falls on a holiday or holiday weekend, there is a $250.00 holiday premium.

Destination Weddings: Smits Photography is available for destination weddings. The client will be responsible for all travel and living expenses.
